ITEM 85029Semi-gloss black is the most useful black Tamiya makes. Full gloss looks like wet plastic and dead flat looks like felt; semi-gloss is what real painted bodywork, tyres, gun metal and vinyl actually read as under a light.
Tamiya TS is a synthetic lacquer that cures fast and lays down glass-smooth on hard plastic. One 100ml can covers two to three 1/24 scale car bodies. Because TS lacquer is unaffected by acrylics and enamels, you can lay a base coat and then pick out detail on top in either — which is the whole reason modellers build a process around it.
Not for polycarbonate. TS lacquer will flake off clear Lexan R/C body shells. Use the Tamiya PS range for those.
