A deliberately thick, dense texture paste for the two surfaces that most basing materials get wrong: volcanic ground, and asphalt. Fine ballast and sand read as soil no matter how you paint them — this has the coarse, broken consistency that actually looks like cooled lava or a torn-up road.

It suits urban and industrial bases, construction sites, post-apocalyptic ruins and any 40mm-plus base that needs to read as man-made ground rather than countryside. Because it goes on dark, you can drybrush greys straight over the top without a basecoat and the recesses stay black on their own.
