Description
Glaze and Wash Medium
Glaze & Wash Medium turns any Pro Acryl colour into a glaze, wash or filter. It has a thicker consistency than water alone for better control on a surface, but thins further with water to reach whatever viscosity the technique calls for. Dries to a matte finish.
For glazes, start at 4 parts medium to 1 part paint — more medium reduces opacity further, less lets more colour show. For washes, use the same 4:1 ratio and then add an equal amount of water, which lets the mixture flow across the surface and settle into recesses; less water gives more control in small areas, more water reduces overall intensity.
It slightly extends dry time, so let each layer dry to the touch before adding more paint over it.
- Expansion Set 2 — Transparents, for glazes with built-in colour intensity
- Signature Series 3: Ben Komets, whose satin and gloss colours suit this kind of blending
- NEWSH Acrylic Weathering Medium, as the alternative for solvent-free weathering effects
