About the 30th Celebration set
The Pokémon TCG launched in Japan in October 1996. 30th Celebration marks the anniversary and is a commemorative set rather than a main-series expansion — structurally closer to Celebrations in 2021 than to the Mega Evolution line. It's also the first Pokémon TCG set to launch simultaneously worldwide across English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
- Every card in the set is foil
- 30 different Pikachu cards, each by a different illustrator with its own holofoil pattern — one Pikachu is guaranteed in every pack
- A brand-new rarity, Futuristic Rare, illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, with Mewtwo ex and Mew ex as the headline cards
- 30 classic reprints spanning Base Set to modern, each carrying a "30" Pikachu stamp
- Each pack contains 5 foil cards, 1 foil Basic Energy and 1 TCG Live code card
One thing worth knowing before you buy: the 30 stamped reprints are not tournament-legal, the same treatment Celebrations' Classic Collection received. They're collector cards, not deck cards.
