8" Deep Strike Marker tool - 11th-edition

An 8-inch Deep Strike ruler for Rapid Deployment is a straight measuring tool with a curved edge made of acrylic that measures exactly eight inches—the safety distance miniatures must maintain when entering the table from the reserve zone in miniature wargames such as Warhammer 40,000®. This 100% compatible tool is cut from 3 mm fluorescent acrylic and is 3mm thick, which is perfect to slip between tightly packed terrain pieces without disturbing them. Because the template is a single rigid piece rather than a tape measure, it can be laid flush against a model’s base and rotated to draw a perfect eight-inch exclusion zone in any direction. 

Under the 11th-edition Deep Strike template, a unit that starts the game in Reserves may be set up “anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 8" horizontally away from all enemy models” during your Reinforcements step. The distance is measured base-to-base (or hull-to-base for vehicles) in a flat plane—vertical height is ignored—so a reliable eight-inch gauge is indispensable for ensuring the requirement is met. 

In play, the template streamlines deployment: you touch one end to the nearest enemy model’s base, pivot the ruler to trace an invisible circle, and immediately know the closest legal drop-spot for your arriving unit. Many players also use the tool before the battle begins, placing it around key objectives to visualise “no-go” zones an opponent cannot Deep Strike into on turn two. The fixed length eliminates accidental over-compression or stretching that can occur with a flexible tape, providing both sides with identical, verifiable measurements.
