Description
Chaos Black is the workhorse undercoat of the Citadel range and the most widely used primer in miniature painting. Its flat matt finish grips plastic, resin and metal, giving every coat that follows something to hold onto.
Priming black keeps recesses dark from the very first step, which suits armoured infantry, vehicles, and any scheme built on metallics or deep saturated colours. Spray in light passes from roughly 15cm in a well-ventilated space, and let the coat cure fully before painting.
Works well with
- Leadbelcher and other metallics, which cover cleanly over black
- Abaddon Black for brush touch-ups on any missed spots
- Nuln Oil to deepen shadows once basecoats are down
