Three colours for WWII German infantry. German Grey covers the greatcoat and trouser tone, Field Grey the tunic — the two are close enough that having both is what makes the figure read correctly rather than uniform-flat — and Black takes boots, belts and weapon furniture.

Quick Gen is AK’s one-coat contrast range: heavily pigmented acrylic that flows into recesses and thins over raised detail on its own, so a single pass leaves shade, midtone and highlight roughly where they belong. It is built for getting a unit table-ready fast rather than for display-cabinet blending.

Works best over a light primer — white or bone — because the effect depends on light coming back through the paint film. Shake well, apply generously with a soft brush, and let it pool where it wants to; brushing it back out defeats the point.
