Extra Thin Cement 40ml - Tamiya

The most-recommended modelling cement in the hobby, and this store's best-selling product. The trick is the viscosity: it is thin enough to be pulled into a joint by capillary action, so you dry-fit the parts first, hold them together, then touch the brush to the seam and let the cement run down it. Nothing squeezes out and nothing needs cleaning up.

It is not really a glue. The solvent melts a thin layer of each surface so the two fuse into one piece of plastic — which is why a properly cemented joint is stronger than the plastic around it, and why it only works on polystyrene.

Working time is 5–10 minutes before you can move on to the next step, and a joint is fully cured after 24 hours. If you need a gap filled rather than a seam fused, this is the version to use — the Quick Setting variant sets too fast to flow into a gap.
