Roll Maker (Tubes, Tentacles and Wires)

Roll Maker is a set of textured plates for producing consistent tubes, tentacles and wires out of any putty or clay — work that's tedious and inconsistent to do freehand, made repeatable with the right tool. Six plates across three sizes, plus two guide bars, cover most of the diameter and texture range a sculptor needs.

Depending on the sculpting material, wetting the plates or your fingers repeatedly with a little water helps reduce stickiness; adding talcum powder to the water can help further with putties like Green Stuff. Clear any residue from the plates with a toothbrush rather than a wire brush or metal implement, which can damage the plate surface.
